Make a small donation to the charity organization of your choice and your name will be engraved on the monumental glass sculpture, where it will stay forever!
I started this project in order to encourage people to help each other in times of need. We all know that the real reward in donating lies in the sense of inner joy and deep satisfaction we experience when we actually make a difference. So I would like inspire you to make a suitable donation and receive something in return.
The idea can be described in two sentences: You can donate at least $20 to the charity organization of your choice. After you have made your contribution, we will inscribe your name on the monumental glass sculpture. This project will give you the opportunity to have your donation permanently recorded in history!
My goal is to raise $10 million in six months, which I am unable to do with the help of regular campaigns. Admittedly, the project is slightly provocative, but is, on the other hand, different from anything you have ever seen or heard of. I hope to stir up the interest of the public and media, which will hopefully help me introduce the project to a broader audience.
When the necessary amount is reached, the sculpture will become the largest glass monument in the whole world. The monument will serve as testament that mankind is willing and able to make our world a better place. It will become a symbol of our charitableness.
The monument will take the form of a honeycomb, a shape which has a deep symbolic meaning. As we all know, bees are excellent team workers whose role in the survival of our planet cannot be overstated. The project would like to show that, through apian-like teamwork, a relatively small group of people is capable of great things, as long as we unite and combine our forces and efforts.
Te many people that will have made contributions (as well as those led by their curiosity) will travel to Slovenia to see their names on the monument, and to take a closer look at the monument itself. The monument’s planned site and our beautiful country of Slovenia will surely be worth your while. It is my hope that the attention attracted by this project will indirectly help my country attract more tourists.
The idea and preparations are a one-man operation. I can imagine that the project could have been carried out better, but it is the most I could pull off as an individual with my limited recourses. I started it, but I will need YOUR help to finish our goal.
I am sure that together we can make a difference!
Why am I doing this?
First of all, I want to show the world that anything is possible!
I want to show people that an ordinary person can achieve something that surpasses their abilities and succeeds in spreading the idea outside their village, city, or country. I want to show the world that we can achieve our goal without large systems and greedy institutions behind them. I want to show everyone that a small group of people is capable of great things, as long as we unite and combine our forces and efforts.
My goal is to show the world that despite the differences in gender, race, religious and political convictions, we are all equal. We are all human; we want to be loved, respected and to live a satisfying and accomplished life.
Together and united. That is why this is also a story about bees. Bees are excellent team workers, and their role in the survival of our planet cannot be overstated. They help us keep our planet alive.
With your help I want to set up a sculpture that will grow with each and every donation. It will serve as testament that mankind is willing and able to make our world a better place. This project will not simply end after the six month period. The sculpture will stay at its resting place and the website will remain active, although I cannot say what will happen with the internet itself in the next 20 years.
Please, remember: This is not MY project, it is OUR project. Only united, as a group, we will be able to achieve our goal and to leave a permanent mark in history. I am the one who started the project, but I will need your help to finish the goal. Without YOU the project will be unable to succeed.
DONORS – donate as usual to the charities of your choice
People all around the world engage in charity work. Most donations take place within the local environment. That is why with this project I would like to encourage charity and donating on a larger, global scale. Every donor will get something in return – a place on the monumental glass sculpture. They will have a chance to go down in history. All he or she has to do is to make a donation or a contribution.
This project enables people to donate to their local or chosen charity organization. The platform Ammado has aggregated more than 1.6 million organizations from around the world. If your selected organization is not one of them, you can contact Ammado and they will add it to their list.
Your donation goes directly to the charity organization of your choice. I alone have no access, nor can I influence the payment methods. The global donation platform ammado manages the donation process. You can donate through various credit and debit cards, and also through PayPal.
Click HERE to find out more about ammado. The platform deducts a 5% fee from your donation, and another fee (average 2.65%) is imposed by the payment providers depending on the payment method you use. These are the sole fees and costs that are deducted from your donation. FAQ are gathered HERE.
I am not trying to earn something on the side or rip you off. The system is used to gather donations for charity organizations that are registered on the platform, including 1.6 million organizations from around the world that you can choose from. It is solely your choice to whom and how much you are prepared to donate, but there is a set minimum donation of $20.
I cannot finance the project by myself nor can I finance the construction of the sculpture. But with my 25 years of experience in marketing, I am certain that a lot of business people will recognize the potential of this idea, and these people and businesses will surely want to become a part of the project. Their payments for advertising on this website and on the sculpture will be spent to build the sculpture. If the gathered payments surpass the sum of the expenses, I will donate the rest to a number of charity organizations. If the gathered payments do not cover the expenses, I will ask local companies and institutions for help.
I have also created the web page “Best from Slovenia”. It represents the best Slovene exporters and various tourism offers. These companies and individuals will also help me to finance this project. Go ahead and visit this site, you may find a new business partner or book your vacation directly and save!
I hope that the project will be interesting enough to attract the attention of a broader audience and gather more support. I started this project by myself, but we can only finish it together. It can turn into an exciting story that will be remembered for generations to come – not only in Slovenia, but throughout the whole world.
What do I get from the project? Why did I devote one year of my life in order to start the project? I am a businessman and I think as such: You reap what you sow. People will start to visit the page and I will start earning money with the advertising placed on the page. I will also set up an independent booking system for all those deciding to visit our country. At the location people will be selling souvenirs, etc.
My motto is: Just because no one has done it does not mean it cannot be done. And also: If we always do the same things, the results will always stay the same.
The names, surnames and countries of all donors (except the anonymous ones) will be engraved into the sculpture. The sculptures planned site is located in Mozirje, a beautiful place in the Slovene valley Savinjska dolina. The shape of the sculpture draws its inspiration from nature – from the honeycomb.
Each comb will consist of toughened glass plates (6 mm) and will have the same colour as the real honeycomb. Each plate will carry inscribed names of all the donors. The combs will be placed as separate units, so that people can walk between them (a 4 m wide space between them). Each comb will be equipped with an entrance and exit point.
Why glass? Mostly such monuments are made out of stone. I decided to choose glass because of the lower price and easier and faster processing.
My goal is to raise $10 million in six months, which I am unable to do with the help of regular campaigns. This means half a million donors for 14 combs. If the project succeeds, it will not be limited by the six-month period. It will grow as long as good and kind people will walk the earth. The sculpture’s planned site will be in Mozirje, town located at the beginning of the Slovene valley Savinjska dolina. It ends with another breathtaking valley called Logarska dolina, which is regarded as the hidden treasure of Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
This valley is home to many friendly people who are willing to try out new approaches and develop new ideas. People who dare to be different. Come and see for yourself!
It was Mr. Oskar Kogoj, who proposed that we use a bee as the part of this project which resulted in my idea that the structure could be shaped as a honeycomb. Oskar Kogoj is an internationally renowned artist and designer who will be creating the centrepiece of the sculpture – the bee. He searched for and found a connection between something that has a deeper symbolic meaning and the message of this project – to encourage charity and good deeds around the world. The bees are a symbol of diligence, unity, and life. That is why we decided to shape the sculpture in the form of a honeycomb. IMPORTANCE OF THE BEE
There is supposedly a quote from Albert Einstein that goes “If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live.” Although there is much debate as to whether he ever said this, truth is—the bee is a major contributor to our livelihood.
Bees are master pollinators, assisting with the reproductive cycle of plants. And this goes beyond the beauty of flowers; their pollinating powers impact important crops of all kinds. Bees play a key role in the delicate balance of our ecosystem. Then there are those special bees that serve as honey producers, delivering that magically sweet nectar to us.
The bee is symbolic of fertility, community, prosperity, diligence and work ethic. The bee symbolizes diligence and indefatigable effort. Someone is said to be busy as a bee when he or she works tirelessly and regardless of schedules or breaks.
Also consider a bee colony or hive. There are many workers that coexist in harmony and live as a unit. This illustrates the power of community and teamwork. Each one of these industrious insects has a job to do that serves the greater good. The bee’s power reminds us of the importance of the collective where each individual contributes to the survival and success of the group. With such hard work and diligence from each, all are able to prosper.
The (humble) bee is the symbol of accomplishing the impossible. Aerodynamically, its body is too large for its wings and should not be able to fly. Although now we understand how it does fly (high rate of wing movement), the (humble) bee remains a symbol of accomplishing anything you put your mind to.
If you decide not to donate and not to support the construction and building process of the sculpture, you can still help me.
Share this story among your family, friends, relatives, co-workers, and others. Spread the news!
You can also publish my story on social networks and local media. I would be sincerely thankful if you could use all the channels at your disposal to help me and my message be heard.
What will you get in return? Even if you do not make a donation or help raise funds for the sculpture’s construction, you will become a part of the story by sharing it.
